The Notion integration lets your workflows search Notion, read a page, and query a database. Notion access works differently from the other providers, and the difference matters. Notion shows no permission list. You select the pages at the moment you connect, and the connection reads those pages only.
A page that you do not select stays invisible to Current. A search finds nothing in it, and the agent reports no error about it. Select every page that your workflows need.

Before you start

You need two things:
  • The admin role in the Current workspace.
  • A Notion account that shares the pages your workflows use.
Make a list of the pages and the databases that your workflows read. You select them in one step, in a picker, and a prepared list makes that step short.

Install

Open the Integrations page

In the portal, go to Settings > Integrations.

Connect Notion

Find the Notion row. Click Connect.

Read the Notion workspace name

Notion shows the access page. At the top of that page, Notion names the workspace that gives the access. Change it if it is not correct.

Select the pages

Click Select pages. Select each page and each database that your workflows read.Notion includes the child pages of a page that you select. Select a parent page to give access to a complete section.

Allow the access

Click Allow access.

Confirm the connection

The browser comes back to the Integrations page.
The Notion row shows the green Connected badge, with the name of your Notion workspace.

Add a page after the installation

You connect nothing again to add a page. Share the page with the integration in Notion:

Open the page in Notion

Open the page or the database that Current must read.

Open the connections menu

Click the ··· menu at the top right of the page. Click Connections.

Add Current

Click Add connections and select Current. Confirm.
Current reads the page immediately. Remove the page the same way to remove the access.
Repeat this for each new page. Notion gives access page by page, so a page that your team makes next month starts invisible to Current.

Verify the installation

Open a workflow that reads Notion and click Run now. Read the run history in the action drawer.
A run that finds a page confirms the connection.
If a search finds nothing, the page is not shared with the integration. Add it with the procedure above.

Remove the integration

Go to Settings > Integrations. Click Disconnect on the Notion row, then confirm. A disconnection removes the token from Current. It cancels nothing at Notion. To remove the integration at Notion as well, a Notion owner opens Settings > Connections in Notion and removes Current.

Questions you may have

The page is not shared with the integration. This is the cause in almost every case.Open the page in Notion and add the Current connection. See Add a page after the installation.
Notion gives access page by page. A new page receives no access from the connection.Share each new page with the procedure above. To avoid this work, share one parent page and make your new pages inside it.
Notion controls the access with the page selection instead of a permission list. The pages that you select are the complete access of the connection.
