The Basecamp Project Sync copies project fields and activity into Current one time each hour. Current never writes to Basecamp. Current records schedule events, progress updates, and time entries as project observations.

Before you start

You need:
  • The admin role in the Current workspace.
  • A Basecamp user that can open every project that Current must import.
Current imports every visible project in the selected Basecamp account. Use an organization account that keeps the required project access.

Install

1

Open the Integrations page

In Current, go to Settings > Integrations.
2

Connect Basecamp

Find Basecamp. Click Connect.
3

Give access

Sign in to Basecamp. Read the access request, then give Current access.
4

Choose the account

If the user can open more than one Basecamp account, select the account that Current must import. Click Use account.
5

Confirm the connection

The Basecamp row shows Connected and the selected account name.

What Current imports

Current imports these project fields:
  • Name and description.
  • Basecamp status and Current status.
  • Basecamp project ID and URL.
  • Created and updated dates.
  • Purpose, access settings, client company, and project color.
  • Current and previous Basecamp progress, plus progress color.
Current records Basecamp activity as observations. It keeps file names, actors, message details, to-do completion, and schedule titles and timing. Current does not import Basecamp to-dos, messages, schedules, or files as Current tasks, messages, schedules, or files.

Verify the installation

Wait for the hourly sync. Open Projects in Current and find a project from the selected Basecamp account. Open the project. Check the Basecamp fields and the project timeline.

Remove the integration

Go to Settings > Integrations. Click Disconnect on the Basecamp row, then confirm.
A disconnect stops future imports. Current keeps the projects, field history, and observations that it already imported.
